Hello guys! My name is Maria Balmores, a licensed salesperson from Hills Real Estate. I originally came from the Pearl of the Orient, the beautiful tropical country of the Philippines. I have been a registered nurse for 25 years specializing in kidney disease. I also had the chance to be a clinical instructor, who have taught 2nd and 3rd year nursing students in Auckland. I am backed with a Masters Degree in Education and a Post Graduate Certificate in Health Sciences at the University of Auckland.The highlight of my post graduate education was when I developed my own assessment scale for Tourette Syndrome which was validated by a neuropsychologist and professor in Stanford University and Louisiana State University.

But the main highlight of my nursing career was when I was one of the frontliners during the Covid pandemic years looking after the New Zealand population.

I believe in the power of promoting the welfare of others, as you can see that I've spent half of my life taking care of people's health. Aside from that, I am the founder of the Philippine Tourette Syndrome Association, found in 16 February 2017 raising awareness and advocacy about Tourette Syndrome in my home country. We started as a core group of less than 10 people whom real lives have been featured on TV to present Tourette Syndrome. From then on, we have reached people from all over the country, done multiple tv, and radio exposures, done symposiums, conferences, lectures, and small group talks advocating about Tourette Syndrome. Yes, we are the first and the only non- profit organization about Tourette Syndrome in the Philippines. Such an achievement I can be really proud of.

With all the aforementioned milestones and achievements, real estate has been a fruitful addition to my portfolio. People relations and ethical practice have always been part of my philosophy--- such important elements in real estate. For me, the number of people i meet is not just data but connections made.
